Whether it's a marathon bike ride, 10,000 steps a day, or giving up a guilty pleasure, dozens of people a year help fund vital medical research by fundraising in their own ways as part of Team PARF.
Team PARF is PA Research Foundation's community fundraising platform, enabling members of the community to raise funds for research into deadly diseases like cancer or fund innovative equipment and important upgrades to the PA Hospital in Brisbane.
Several passionate and caring community members raised over $10,000 for research at the hospital through Team PARF in 2020 with fundraising activities ranging from a birthday fundraiser to a mammoth 100km bike ride and much more.

PA Research Foundation Chief Executive Officer Damian Topp said the best aspect of Team PARF is the fact that anyone can use the platform to facilitate fundraising for a cause that's close to their heart.
"PA Research Foundation has a strong track record of supporting novel research into new treatment pathways for several different cancers and other deadly diseases, as well as helping to fund state of the art equipment at the PA which improves patient outcomes," he said.
"We couldn't have the impact we have in providing hope and comfort to thousands of patients every year without the support of our Team PARF fundraisers.
"No matter what health-related cause you're passionate about we can help you support it through Team PARF."
Among the top Team PARF fundraisers last year, was Will Stacey who rode more than 100kms on an E-bike, raising more than $7000 in the process for the PA Hospital's Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit.
After receiving excellent care when diagnosed with a sarcoma, Windaroo mum Shari Nobbs held a birthday fundraiser through the Team PARF platform, asking for donations to the PA Hospital instead of gifts and raised more than $2000.

"You can do almost anything fundraise, be it a raffle, a car wash, a trivia night, a sporting event or challenge, if you've got an idea let us know and we can help you every step of the way to make it a success," Mr Topp said.
