PA Research Foundation Chief Executive Officer Damian Topp said the organization was thrilled to see such a high level of engagement in the seven-day fitness challenge from both the PA Hospital and wider communities.

"The Smiddy Fun Run has been running for 13 years as a regular fun run around the PA Hospital campus, so it was encouraging to see so many of our regular Smiddy Fun Runners, including many of our PA community get behind the Fun Week concept," he said.

"The virtual platform gave the chance for everyone to get involved in raising vital funds and it was amazing to see the likes of David Smiddy raise as much as he did in honour of his son.

"The biggest of thanks to our presenting partner Port of Brisbane for their support, and every single Smiddy Fun Week participant for their efforts, the week would not have been such a resounding success without their dedication and commitment."
