PAH Emergency Medicine Grants


The PA Research Foundation (the Foundation) is pleased to announce two (2) new funding opportunities, made possible by a generous gift to the Foundation for the PA Hospital (PAH) Emergency Medicine Department from an anonymous donor. These funding programs are:

Rethinking Emergency Medicine Research Program

The Rethinking Emergency Medicine Research Program (REMR) has been established to provide an opportunity for SE Queensland university students to collaborate with staff from the PAH Emergency Medicine Department to effect change for patients and/or staff.

Open to any SE Queensland university student for a project related to disciplines outside of medicine, nursing, or allied health disciplines, but with an outcome directly applicable to the emergency department facilities, staff and patients.

Examples of eligible projects are those in areas of:

  • Music
  • Interior design
    • Communication
  • Transport
    • Visual Art
  • Journalism
    • Indigenous affairs
  • Other (except medicine, nursing, or allied health)
  • $10K of grant funding available for each of three (3) projects

    PA Emergency Medicine Small Grant Program

    The PA Emergency Medicine Small Grant Program (EMSG) is for any project that develops new methods, technology, techniques, systems and/or applications, provided the project has the potential to result in new knowledge of significant impact that will ultimately improve the delivery of better healthcare to patients within the emergency department.

    Open to ANY staff member of the PA Hospital (clinical or non-clinical) to lead a new area of research in the emergency medicine discipline.

    $25K of grant funding available for each of two (2) projects

    How to apply

    Before completing the EOI, please review the Emergency Medicine Grant Guidelines

    Completed EOI forms must be emailed to by 5pm AEST, 29 October 2020. Late EOIs will not be accepted.

    Use the program acronym (REMR or EMSG) in the email subject heading and the following naming convention for the EOI file "EM 2020 program acronym_Applicant Surname".
